Harley-Davidson Sees Positive Signs in First Quarter 2018 Financials | Riders Domain Magazine April 2018

Various motorcycle industry news topics were necessary to write over the years, including many reports on quarterly and yearly financials for businesses. This is a first quarter report I wrote about Harley-Davidson for Riders Domain Magazine in April 2018. Consolidated revenue was up 2.9% overall, retail motorcycle sales were up 0.2% internationally thanks to positive growth in Latin America and EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). Market share increased to 10.4% in Europe also in the 601+cc segment…”

“…The first quarter of 2018 also saw the implementation of Harley’s plan to consolidate its assembly plant in Kansas City, MO into the York, PA facility. There will be millions of dollars of cost associated with the restructuring through next year, but Harley expects an “ongoing annual cash savings of $64 million to $75 million after 2020.” For Q1 2018, Harley shelled out $47.6 million dollars toward the manufacturing optimization…”
